Cultural Development of Mathematical Ideas: Papua New Guinea Studies Geoffrey Saxe’s research interests include the interplay between historical and economic changes, schooling and the concomitant shifts in individuals’ thinking. He has conducted field research in sites such as Papua New Guinea and Brazil. He is the author of Culture and Cognitive Development (Erlbaum, 1991). |
